Eagle's Nest

Native American sacred sites always have a close tie to the earth or sky. The Earth is important in that it is  where all humankind came from(Mother Earth). The sky has always represented God's home and the Eagle,  God's representative to Earth's people. this painting depicts all these elements. The stylized Eagle watches over a Native American sacred site, high up in a canyon cliff and also deep into the Earth. The model for this painting was "Ceremonial Cave" at Bandelier National Monument, New Mexico.
