Salako Taka & Mana
 (Hopi)

Towering up to eight feet in height, this brother and sister are most distingishable by their mask color. Salako
Taka, the brother, has a pink face, while Salako Mana, his sister, has a white face. Unlike the Zuni salakos, the
Hopi Salako ceremony is performed very rarely; the last known one was performed in 1972. It is believed that
their function is to bring the cloud and rain kachinas to the Hopi mesas and keep them there for extended
periods of time.
